Early hours of Monday, youths from Asta community, near Makurdi, blocked the road to Joseph Sawuan University of Agriculture in protest against an attack by suspected herders. This blockade disrupted traffic, particularly for motorists.
Witnesses reported that the suspected herders invaded the community around 1:00 am, attacking people with machetes, knives, and other dangerous weapons. The attack resulted in various injuries, with six people hospitalized. Security operatives eventually arrived to repel the attackers.
