Hon. Prince Matthew James Omeiza, the Secretary of Okehi Local Government, has demonstrated his commitment to his constituents by investing millions of naira in support of party loyalists and addressing key community issues within his first six months in office.
On Friday, Hon. Omeiza launched the quarterly Community Empowerment Program, known as the “Conditional Credit Cash Transfer,” in Okehi LGA, Kogi State. This program saw over 200 constituents receiving substantial financial aid, showcasing Hon. Omeiza’s dedication to enhancing the community’s livelihood.
During the launch, Hon. Omeiza highlighted the importance of leadership in tackling the community’s problems. He promised continued support and future rounds of financial aid as soon as more funds are available.
Beneficiaries, representing the 11 council wards in the area, expressed renewed confidence in the APC government under Governor Usman Ododo. Hon. Omeiza urged recipients to invest the funds in small businesses to stimulate local economic growth.
“If all of you who have benefited now can put the money into small businesses in your various wards, then you can bring development to your wards because of the multiplier effects,” he stated.
Additionally, Hon. Omeiza pledged to resolve the water issues faced by the Ikaturu Community in Eika-Ohizenyi of Okehi LGA with the support of the LG caretaker chairman and his associates. The empowerment program also included payments to various community groups, ensuring comprehensive support.
The event was attended by notable figures including Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade, DG of Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency; Prof. Solomon Avidime, CMD of Reference Hospital Okene; Hon. Amoka Eneji Monday, Okehi LGA Chairman; and other distinguished officials.
Hon. Anate, a ward party chairman from Eika-Ohizenyi ward, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanking Hon. Omeiza for his generosity and pledging responsible use of the funds to encourage further development from the council.
