Lagos State Government Extends Flexible Work Arrangement.

The Lagos State Government has prolonged its flexible work initiative for civil servants by an additional three months to alleviate economic pressure. The Head of Service, Bode Agoro, announced that the extension will commence on June 3 and conclude on September 3.

This decision follows Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s approval, building on an earlier directive aimed at cushioning the effects of fuel subsidy removal on public servants. The governor’s approval is a testament to his commitment to supporting the welfare of civil servants.

Certain categories of workers are exempt from the flexible work arrangement due to the nature of their duties. These include staff of the Lagos Internal Revenue Service, teaching staff in basic and secondary schools, healthcare workers, clinical staff, allied health professionals, first responders, and drivers. Their work schedules are already managed through roster, shift, or call duty arrangements.

To ensure effective implementation, accounting officers must guarantee that affected officers meet their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This aligns with the government’s policies and programs under the THEMES+ Agenda. Accounting officers are directed to comply with the circular and disseminate it widely across the service.
